Rose
Rose
Rosa hybrids
🌿 Description
The timeless queen of the garden, loved for its elegant blooms, wide range of colors, and, in many varieties, a delicate fragrance. Roses flower in repeated waves from spring until late autumn. Available as a bush and as an elegant tige.
🏡 In the Garden
Ideal for flower beds, borders, entrances, pathways, and cutting gardens. The bush form creates colorful, abundant beds and borders, while the tige form raises the blooms to eye level, adding height and a classic formal touch along pathways, at entrances, or in large pots.
☀️ Light
Prefers full sun, with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. More sun means more flowers and healthier plants.
🌡️ Climate & Elevation
Well adapted to most regions of Lebanon, from sea level to around 1,500–1,800 m. In hot coastal areas, flowering slows during peak summer heat and resumes strongly in autumn. Reliable outdoor hardiness generally corresponds to USDA Zones 5–9, depending on the variety.
💧 Watering
Water deeply and regularly, especially in summer. Water at the base rather than over the leaves to reduce the risk of fungal diseases. Good drainage is essential.
✂️ Maintenance
Prune in late winter to shape the plant and encourage strong new growth. For the tige form, keep the crown balanced and remove any shoots growing from the stem or base. Remove faded flowers regularly and feed during the growing season with a rose fertilizer.
💡 Plant Express Tip
Line a pathway with rose tiges and plant bush roses at their feet to create a layered, romantic display. Good air circulation and morning sun help keep the leaves healthy and the blooms coming all season.
